Metro Hoops Developmental League -  The Metro Hoops Developmental League, also known as the D-LEAGUE is bar none the ultimate in developmental basketball for boys and girls in grades 2 through 8. We at Metro Hoops believe that both practice and application are important to the complete development of young boys and girls in the early stages of their career. The D-league consists of 45 minutes of fundamentals and skills followed by a live game with officials.

 

Metro Hoops Freshman/Sophomore Showcase is a camp for the top Freshmen and Sophomores in the Northeast. This showcase assembles the metro areas most talented players who want to compete against the best. This is a very intense 2-day setting. Each player will be assigned to a team and participate in 2-4 games per day. This event is for serious player only!

Lance Thomas scored 21 points and David Cubullian added 19 markers including (5 Treys) as St. Benedicts Prep cruised past American Christian 92-71 in the third and final game of the Brian Doherty Classic. Tyreke Evans scored 19 points for the Eagles in the loss.

Spotlight Players

Tyreke Evans 65 So. Guard (American Christian)- The sensational sophomore had a tough game today for two reasons. First, David Cubullian was a total pest of defense denying Evans the rock for the full 94 feet. Secondly, the Eagles didnt seem to run any effective sets that would have freed up Evans for easy buckets.

David Cubullian 61 Sr. Guard (St. Benedicts Prep)- Cubillian not only played great defense on Evans he also handled his business on the offensive end by catching fire from behind the arc (5 Treys). His defensive play got his offense going early.

Lance Thomas 68 Sr. Forward (St. Benedicts Prep)- Thomas was like the energizer bunny today. He tried to dunk everything around the basket and didnt mind sacrificing his body for the team. He never stops moving on offense and relies on his athleticism to out do opponents.

Eugene Harvey 61 Sr. Guard (St. Benedicts Prep)- Mr. Harvey put on another offensive show. He changes direction on a dime and tries to finish off drives with smooth lay ups. He handles the rock like hes playing with a yo-yo.
