AAA Final
Franklin Learning Center
65 Communications Tech 60
Franklin Learning Center fought
off a Communications Tech late rally to hold on 65-60 to win the AAA title.
Early in the third quarter Franklin Learning Center used a 16-1 run to build
their biggest lead of the game 39-19.
Momentum started to shift
midway through the fourth quarter when Communications Tech went on a 21-5 run to
cut the Franklin Learning Center lead to 63-60 with 45 seconds remaining. After
a time out Franklin Learning Center got the ball into the hands of their go to
guy Malcolm Eleby. Eleby was fouled quickly and sent to the free throw
line where he converted 1 of 2 free throws to make it a two possession game with
30 seconds left. After a missed jump shot from Communications Tech senior
Najee Edwards, Communications sent Eleby to the line again where he would go
1 for 2 to hold on to a 65-60 victory.
Franklin Learning Center was
led by a balance scoring attack. St. Bonaventure signee Malcolm Eleby
scored a team high 14 points, junior Ryan White added 11 points and
sophomore Denzel Yard went for 11 also.
Communications Tech senior
Najee Edwards was the high scorer of the game pouring in 20 points, senior
Shyheem Satchell scored 12 points, and sophomore point guard Antonio
Monroe came off an injury to chip in 10 points.
Notes: Franklin Learning
Center had a Mr. Clean look as they all shaved their heads and supported
Adidas team headbands.
Free Throws:
Communications Tech missed 14 free throws in the game.
