Round Results
(4) Pennsbury 70 – (13) Council Rock
North 33
Earlier this season Council Rock North
handed Pennsbury their only PIAA loss 50-49 but last night in front of a sold
out Pennsbury High School. Pennsbury defeated Council Rock North 70-33.
The Falcons opened up with back to back
dunks from sophomore Dalton Pepper and senior center Kevin Gallagher.
The Falcons built an early 15-5 lead after one quarter of play. The second
quarter was topped off by freshman point guard Jesse Krasna’s deep three
pointer with no time remaining as Pennsbury would build a 36-10 lead at
halftime. Krasna scored 9 points during the first half, shooting 3-3 from the
three point arc.
To open up the third quarter Pennsbury
pounded the ball into Temple University signee Lavoy Allen, Allen scored
11 points in the third to help his team take a 58-19 lead into the fourth
quarter. After one minute of play in the fourth quarter Pennsbury subbed all of
their starters and went on to cruise 70-33.
Pennsbury was led by a balanced scoring
attack; center Lavoy Allen led all scorers with 19 points, 6 rebounds,
and 2 blocks. Freshman Jesse Krasna ended the game with 9 points (3-3
from the arc), guard Derrick Wright chipped in 9 points, and sophomore
Dalton Pepper had a nice stat line gathering 7 points, 7 boards, 7 assist,
and 2 blocks.
Quarter Final Match Up:
The game many people have been waiting for Pennsbury and Plymouth
Whitemarsh will square off Friday night, February 23 at William Tennent High
School. Pennsbury defeated Plymouth Whitemarsh earlier this season at St. Joseph
University 53-44.
(5) Plymouth Whitemarsh 66 – (12)
Central Bucks East 46
Plymouth Whitemarsh fell behind early 25-22
at half time, but outscored the Patriots 44-21 in the second half to go on to
win 66-46. The Colonials were led by Hartford signee Anthony Minor who
scored a game high 28 points. Plymouth Whitemarsh center Greg Maugle
chipped in 11 points as did Mick Acquaviva. Central Bucks East was led by
Pat McLaughlin who scored a team high 14 points.
(2) Chester 68 – (18) Interboro 51
For the second time this year the Clippers
handed Interboro a loss. The Clippers jumped out to an early 27-11 lead and
never looked back. Chester was led by junior Nasir Robinson 18 points,
junior Russell Johnson 15 points, and junior point guard Karon Burton
13 points.
(7) Ridley 84 – (10) Central Bucks
West 79 – Triple Overtime
Even with all five starters fouling out for
Ridley, they were still able to outlast Central Bucks West in triple overtime.
(3) Souderton 81 – (14) Downingtown
West 56
Souderton was led by Jim Connolly 25
points and Ron Benson 23 points. Souderton led 46-27 at half time.
(6) West
Chester Henderson 53 – (11) Boyertown 38
West Chester Henderson’s Ryan McCormick
was too much for Boyertown. McCormick scored a game high 22 points.
